Welcome to the World of Map Making!
Introducing "Lord of Maps Draws a Map"
Do you draw maps? Do you wish you drew maps? Do you, or any of your loved ones draw maps? If you answered "yes", or "no" to any of these questions, THIS BOOK IS FOR YOU.
Join a brave Tortoise as he shows you step-by-step how to build a world.
About the Book:
What is it?
This is a children's book. It has a story, a character and lots of pictures. But that's not all.
You see, this is a How-to-Draw-a-Map Book disguised as a children's book. While you read this book to your little humans, you will actually be learning some basic principles of fantasy map making. Such as the very important order map elements should be drawn in.
What is the Story?
Earl is a wise old tortoise who is wandering the Land of Nowhere when he finds something peculiar: a piece of paper and a pen.
Everything he draws on that piece of paper becomes real.
Map Making Tips and Tricks
At the back of the book there is a recipe for making maps.
It includes step by step instructions and also helpful practice pages.
You can either draw directly in the book, or print out copies of these pages for repeated use.
Is it just for kids?
No! I didn't make the writing childish or overly simple. I expect adults to be borrowing this book from their kids (with their permission) to use as a reference for their map making endeavors.
My 3 year old loved the pictures, and my 8 month old loved to eat the pages. So, I'll put the age from 3 to 300 years old
Who made the book?
I did. I wrote the words, drew the pictures and colored them.
I am Isaac Dushku. I come from the exotic land of Centerville, Utah. It's probably on your bucket list to visit. For the past 4 years I've been drawing maps as the "Lord of Maps" online.
I draw "fantasy" maps of real world places, but also do tutorial videos on how to draw maps. They have become increasingly popular.
I figured I should make a fun, simple book to address lots of the questions I've been getting. This is that book.
